An empanada (em pa nada - not em pan yada) is a stuffed bread or pastry baked or fried in many countries in Western Europe, Latin America, and parts of Southeast Asia. The name comes from the Galician, Portuguese and Spanish verb empanar; which means to wrap or coat in bread.
Empanadas are made by folding dough or bread around stuffing; which usually consists of a variety of meat, cheese, huitlacoche, vegetables or fruits. We BAKE ours and make them with love!
So you JUST do empanadas?
No way! We do tequila too! Okay we actually offer a few things other than tequila and emapandas but that's sort of our "thing". Our house-made guacamole is always a good start as is our elote. An elote, for the uninitiated, is a Mexican street food tradition. Delicious sweet corn cooked just right and then covered in mexican mayo (very limey), cotija cheese and chili powder. Its a great treat to snack on alone or to start off your dinner with. We have a few vegetarian options on the menu; but for those with gluten allergies, one of our salads might be your best bet.
